First certified CLARIN B-centre in Switzerland

LaRS (Language Repository of Switzerland), and LiRI (Linguistic Research Infrastructure) have been officially awarded the joint CLARIN B-centre certification, the first of its kind in Switzerland. This certification recognises that LaRS, hosted on the SWISSUbase platform, operates on a trusted, standards‑based, and FAIR‑aligned repository infrastructure for preserving and sharing language data. This milestone recognizes their combined infrastructure as a trusted, robust, and fully compliant centre for the long-term preservation and open access of language data.

Achieving B-centre status is a rigorous process that evaluates a repository’s technical infrastructure, data management practices, and commitment to Open Science. This certification ensures that researchers in Switzerland and across Europe can confidently deposit, discover, and reuse linguistic data in a sustainable and standardized environment.
