Same data. Same research question. Different analyses – made transparent.

As part of Love Data Week 2026, we are launching a Swiss-wide Many Analysts research project in the field of educational research and would like to invite you to participate.

In the One Dataset – Many Analysts Challenge, multiple independent research teams analyse the same dataset and address the same research question. The aim is to make transparent how different, yet well-justified, analytical decisions can lead to different results. The focus is on transparency, reproducibility, and reflection on analytical practice – not on identifying a single “correct” analysis.

The project is open to researchers and research teams at Swiss Universities of Teacher Education. There are no requirements regarding methodological complexity, software, or disciplinary background. An interest in data analysis and school-related research is sufficient.

The kickoff will take place on 12 February 2026, during Love Data Week. Project work for the teams will continue until October 2026 and includes an independent analysis phase, structured peer feedback, and a revision phase. The analyses will form the basis for a joint synthesis publication, coordinated by the project team.

Please register your interest via the project’s OLAT course (no commitment at this stage; final registration will take place after the kickoff):
