Open Science and Knowledge Security
In this workshop, we will explore the concept of Knowledge Security - protecting research, data, and expertise from misuse, undue influence, or unwanted transfer - and examine the risks that Open Science practices, particularly open data, can introduce. At the same time, we will consider how well-governed Open Science processes can strengthen and enhance Knowledge Security rather than undermine it. Together, we will develop a practical risk-assessment tool to help identify Knowledge Security vulnerabilities within Open Science workflows. We will also discuss effective strategies and mitigation measures to address these risks and support responsible, secure openness.
This workshop will be hosted by Hannah Brodersen and Laura Piccina of the University of Bern.
